Make a reusable cutout from a photo or product image
Use a transparent background when the subject needs to sit on a slide, product page or new layout without its original rectangular backdrop. The AI estimates which parts belong to the foreground and returns a PNG with transparent areas around them.
This changes the background mask, rather than simply renaming the file or reducing the opacity of the whole picture. A PNG can still have an opaque background, and a white product may need to stay visible while the white surface behind it is removed.

Choose the clearest source
Upload one PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP or SVG up to 20 MB. Selection starts the upload. Use an image with the full subject visible and identifiable edges; wait for upload completion before processing.

Generate the AI cutout
Click Make Transparent to start the server task and follow its progress in the results list. The model chooses the foreground automatically. Uploading alone does not remove the background.

Download the actual PNG and check it
Save the completed PNG rather than taking a screenshot. Place it over light and dark backgrounds and inspect edges, gaps, shadows and missing subject parts. Keep the PNG when moving it into another layout to retain its alpha channel.
Understand what the transparent PNG contains
The PNG's alpha channel records which pixels are transparent. A viewer may display a checkerboard, white or black behind those pixels; that viewer background is separate from the saved image.

The result is a static pixel image. SVG paths do not stay editable, and an animated source does not produce an animation here. Downloading a PNG preserves its alpha; the next app can still flatten it, so check the placed result as well.
Choose the cutout for the layout you are making
Review the parts that matter to the subject, not only whether the surrounding rectangle disappeared.
A product on a catalog or landing page
Check handles, holes, thin packaging and any shadow you need to retain. A background that looks clean on white can show a halo on a dark product card. Compare the cutout on the intended design color.
A portrait on a slide or team page
Inspect hair, glasses, clothing edges and areas where the person blends into the backdrop. A sharper source with clearer separation can help; the tool does not provide a brush to restore missing strands or fabric.
An object layered over a presentation
Keep the downloaded PNG and insert that file into the layout. A screenshot of a checkerboard preview can bake the checkerboard into a new opaque image instead of preserving transparency.
A white or plain backdrop
The model separates foreground from background, rather than deleting every white pixel. White clothing, labels and reflections can belong to the subject. Inspect them before deciding the cutout is suitable.
Make a logo transparent
Remove the background from an existing JPG, PNG, WebP or SVG logo and download a transparent PNG for a website or slide. Compare the PNG with the original on light and dark backgrounds, checking small letters, gaps inside letters, thin strokes and white artwork. If important details disappear, try a clearer source or repair the mask in an editor.

Review edges before reusing the image
Keep the whole subject in focus
A clear, complete source gives you more usable edge information than a blurred or cropped subject. Enlarging an unclear source does not reconstruct missing detail.
Inspect difficult materials
Hair, translucent glass, soft shadows and low-contrast edges need close review. The AI may remove useful parts or retain background. Use an editor with a manual mask when automatic output is insufficient.
Test a light and a dark placement
Look for bright outlines, dark fringes, unwanted holes and remaining backdrop. Review at the intended display size as well as zoomed in; a checkerboard preview alone can hide a problem.
Keep a source for another attempt
Save the original and the downloaded PNG. Try a clearer source if needed, and review each generated result independently. Reprocessing a cutout is not guaranteed to repair an earlier masking error.
Questions about making and saving a transparent background
This tool estimates a foreground subject. It has no color-tolerance selector or whole-image opacity slider. It can attempt to remove a white backdrop, but white details in the subject should be checked rather than assumed to survive perfectly.
Download the PNG result. Do not substitute a screenshot of the preview or save it as JPEG. Insert the PNG into the next app and check its export settings, because that app may flatten transparency onto a solid background.
SVG is accepted, but the result is a PNG without editable paths. If SVG fonts or linked resources cause a problem, prepare a self-contained file or a PNG export first. Keep the original vector artwork when you need scalable shapes or exact print assets.
