Yes. Use the online GIF to MP4 converter without creating an account. Select your GIF, leave MP4 selected and start the conversion after uploading. The tool adds no watermark; a watermark already visible in the source GIF stays in the picture.

Convert an animated GIF to video online
Turn a GIF into a video in the format your app needs. This free online GIF to video converter accepts one saved GIF and exports MP4, WebM or MOV. Choose a background color for transparent areas, then preview or download a silent video containing one complete animation cycle.
MP4 is selected when you open the tool, so you can convert an animated GIF to MP4 without changing the format. For a website that accepts WebM or an editing workflow that requests MOV, choose that output before converting. If you want to create a GIF from a video instead, use Video to GIF.
How to turn a GIF into a video
Upload the GIF you want to convert
Select one GIF from your device, up to 25 MB. The file uploads as soon as you choose it. Wait for the upload to finish; you can then convert the same uploaded animation to another output format.
Choose MP4, WebM or MOV and a background
Leave MP4 selected for the default GIF to MP4 conversion, or switch to WebM or MOV. Set the color that should appear behind transparent pixels. White is selected initially.
Convert the GIF, then preview and download
Click Convert to video to start the server conversion. Open the finished result in the preview when your browser supports it, then download the video. If MOV will not preview, download it for a compatible player or convert the GIF to MP4 instead.
GIF to MP4, WebM or MOV: which format should you choose?
MP4 is a practical starting point if your destination accepts it. Choose WebM or MOV when you have a specific requirement. Changing the output format does not add sound or preserve transparency in this tool.
| Conversion | Use it when | Before you share or import it |
|---|---|---|
| GIF to MP4 | You want an MP4 video for a presentation, an editor or an app that accepts this format. | The default output. Check the destination’s file-size and duration requirements. |
| GIF to WebM | Your web project or video player accepts WebM files. | To convert GIF to WebM, select WebM before submitting. Confirm playback support where you plan to use it. |
| Animated GIF to MOV | An editing or delivery workflow specifically asks for a .mov file. | Browser preview is not available everywhere. Download the MOV and open it in a compatible player or editor. |
The filename extension is only part of video compatibility. A destination also needs to support the video inside the file. See the MDN video container guide for more detail.
Convert GIF to video with a solid background
Match transparent areas to the place you will use the video
A transparent GIF needs a solid background in this converter. The background color fills transparent pixels in MP4, WebM and MOV. For an animated logo or sticker, choose a color that fits the slide, page or design behind it.
White is the default. Changing this setting does not recolor parts of the GIF that are already opaque, and selecting WebM does not enable an alpha channel. Check the edges of the animation in your downloaded result.
Animation timing, dimensions and picture quality
When you convert an animated GIF to video, the tool follows the source frame order and playback timing. The downloaded file contains one full play. Re-encoding can change small text, color detail or sharp edges; there is no lossless-output guarantee and no manual quality, bitrate or FPS setting.
The converter does not stretch the picture or recover detail missing from a small GIF. An odd source width or height may add one pixel of padding on the right or bottom so the video can be encoded. To remove unwanted borders first, use GIF Cropper.
GIF files this converter can process
| Input or output setting | Limit |
|---|---|
| Input file | One GIF, up to 25 MB |
| Source animation | Up to 240 frames |
| Source dimensions | Up to 4096 pixels on each side |
| Combined frame pixels | Up to 60 million: width × height × source frame count |
| Exported video | Up to 120 seconds in total |
These checks apply together. A compact GIF can still contain too many frames or pixels. If it exceeds a limit, shorten the animation or reduce its dimensions in an editor before uploading it again. To keep a GIF instead of exporting video, see GIF Compressor and check that tool’s input limits.
How to save a GIF as a video on your phone or computer
You can choose a GIF saved on an iPhone, Android phone or computer through the browser’s file picker. To make a GIF into a video on iPhone or another phone, start with MP4 if your destination app accepts it, choose a background and download the converted file.
Look in the browser’s download list or the folder selected on your device to find the video. A download does not automatically appear in every photo gallery. Find the saved MP4, WebM or MOV before importing it elsewhere, and check the destination app’s upload requirements.
Questions about converting GIF to video
The exported video is silent. A GIF has no audio track, and this converter does not add music or speech. Download the video and use an editor if you want to combine it with audio.
This tool fills transparent pixels with the selected background color for all three outputs. It does not export transparent MP4, WebM or MOV video. Choose a background that matches the place where the animation will appear.
The export contains one complete animation cycle. An infinite-loop setting in the source GIF does not make the video longer. You can repeat playback with a player’s loop control; that changes playback in the player, not the downloaded file.
File size is only one check. The GIF can also exceed the source-frame count, dimensions, combined frame-pixel limit or 120-second duration limit. Reduce the dimensions or shorten the animation in an editor, then upload the revised GIF.
MOV playback depends on the browser and device. Download the converted file and open it in a compatible player or editing program. If you need another format, choose MP4 and convert the uploaded GIF again.
It can, but a smaller file is not guaranteed. The result depends on the animation’s content, dimensions, duration and encoding. Compare the download with your GIF before deciding which file to use.
Uploaded GIFs and temporary video files
The GIF uploads when you select it. Conversion runs on our server, and the uploaded file and generated videos are stored temporarily before scheduled cleanup. Download your result after conversion. The Privacy Policy explains file handling and retention.
